TOPSoccer is a recreational sports program for children and adults with disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated clubs. The goal of LYSA’s TOPSoccer program is to provide people with diverse abilities with an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive.
FALL 2024 TOPSOCCER PLAYER & VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION INFO & LINKS
LYSA is now affiliated with GotSport for online registration. Please create a new account.
PLAYER REGISTRATION HAS BEEN CLOSED
***There may be an opening on a team if a family who requested a registration deadline extension for their player does not complete registration before the season starts.***
LYSA TOPSoccer PLAYER Registration Form - Fall 2024
- Step 1: Email Lynda at topsoccerlex@gmail.com to check if there is an opening.
- Step 2: If you are told there is an opening, click here to register (see below tips for registering).
TIPS:
- Create Account: A parent/legal guardian must first create a GotSport account for themselves, making sure to NOT register themselves as a "Player."
- Register Player: You may need to "Add" your player to your household before you can register them. Do a search for them, and when you do not find them, you can add them under your household. Then, register them as a player.
- Parent/Legal Guardian Info: Add your player's other parent/legal guardian under your account (provides them access to the account; may add more than one).
- Birth Certificate: Make sure you have a copy of your player's birth certificate when you register, because you will be asked to upload it.
SUPPLEMENTAL REGISTRATION FORMS FOR SELECT PLAYERS: If either of the below forms applies to your player, you'll be provided instructions by the director on how to submit.
Note: For information about SafeSport training, see risk management question under TOPSoccer FAQs (click here).
COUNT ME IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION 2024
Please email your Financial Assistance Application materials to grassrootsdirector@lysa.org. If approved, you will receive a code via email to use when registering your player(s).
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION HAS BEEN RE-OPENED
LYSA TOPSoccer VOLUNTEER Registration Form - Fall 2024 (click here to register)*see below note
- Step 1: Email Lynda at topsoccerlex@gmail.com to check if there is an opening.
- Step 2: If you are told there is an opening, click here to register (see below tips before you register).
TIPS:
- Create Account:
- Youth Volunteers (Under 18 Years):
- New Account: If a youth volunteer does NOT have a GotSport account, a parent/legal guardian must first create an account for themselves before registering the youth volunteer. Then, the parent/legal guardian will click "registering a child or someone else" to register the youth volunteer.
- Existing Account: If a youth volunteer already has a GotSport account, there must be a parent/legal guardian on the account. Make sure to click on the volunteer's name listed under your account before you click "registering a child or someone else." Only click "registering myself" if you are signing yourself up as a volunteer.
- Adult Volunteers (18 Years or Older): Use an email you plan to have long-term access to for your user ID/email. You will also be able to list "contact email" if there is an email you currently check more regularly (e.g., school or work email). NOTE: If you completed SafeSport training in the past, make sure that your user ID/email is the same email you used to complete SafeSport training (e.g., Demosphere user ID/email for our returning volunteers).
- Volunteer Role At Initial Sign-In: Select "Coach" as the role when you first sign in to register yourself or someone else. On the registration form, you will be able to select the volunteer role or roles of interest.
- Volunteer Openings: We are currently short volunteer buddies on teams that meet during the first session time (3:00 - 4:00 PM) and may need full-time buddies or buddy subs for our oldest team during the second session time (4:15 - 5:15 PM). There are NO coach or assistant coach openings right now.
VOLUNTEER RISK MANAGEMENT & COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Risk Management Items - Background Check & SafeSport Course (Required for Volunteers Who Are or Will Be 18 Years of Age During The Season): If one or both of these items are "required" or "expired" for the 2024/2025 seasonal year, they must be completed at time of registration unless a volunteer has approval from the director for a deadline extension. A volunteer will not be assigned a volunteer role unless risk management items are completed.
- Instructions to Check & Complete Risk Management Items:
- Log in to your GotSport account (https://system.gotsport.com/users/login).
- Once on GotSport, click on the "Dashboard" tab, which is the first tab on the upper menu. This is where you will find the risk management items.
- Click on each risk management item listed as "required" or "expired" for 2024/2025, which should pull up a "details" page with information about that item and a link to complete the item (might include a form, too).
- If you completed a SafeSport course during the 2023/2024 seasonal year, or the current seasonal year, and it is not listed, click "Check Records" at the bottom of the details page for that item.
- Note for Volunteers Who Completed SafeSport Training In the Past: If you completed SafeSport before May 1st of this year, you will need to complete the SafeSport course due this seasonal year before you can be assigned a volunteer role. The SafeSport training course sequence is SafeSport Trained (full course), SafeSport Refresher 1, SafeSport Refresher 2, and SafeSport Refresher 3. The training sequence repeats after SafeSport Refresher 3.
- Note for 17-Year-Old Volunteers: If you will turn 18 years of age during the season, you will need to complete SafeSport training before the season starts to be assigned a volunteer role (requires parental consent). Additionally, you will need to commit to completing the background check once you turn 18 years.
- USYS TOPSoccer Course (New TOPSoccer Coaches & Buddies): The director will email instructions and a fee waiver code for the course after volunteer availability has been confirmed AND, if subject to risk management, after risk management items have been completed.
